Unable to attend campus or gather as a group due to COVID restrictions we have struck out on our own to document the Anthropocene trace fossil record all around us. Without specialised tools we are using the tools that we have: a camera, a scale, a web browser, shoes, the ever present face-mask and the desire to explore and discover.

We venture forth into the world beyond the edges of our home in search of traces. Many of us can only leave the house for an hour a day and most of us are restricted to 5km of our place of residence (public health order). Most of us are in Sydney where buildings rarely contain fossiliferous rocks (unlike much of Europe and North America), so we are creative and we will explore the fossil record we are making.

So here, in this online space… we shall gather the fruit of our collective wisdom. Our perspectives on our place and the Anthropocene trace fossil record of the future.
